					<description>Once you apply DataDots to your property you register it on the national database. That way if the police recover it they can return it to the rightful owner. Also if you sell your property that has been marked with DataDots, you can fill out a Transfer of Ownership Form.

Your what if questions can apply even if DataDots are not applied. If someone was going to steal a phone and apply DataDots, then report it stolen, they could simply just record the serial number down and do the same thing. 

DataDots aren't a sure way to protect your valuables. However, it is one more proven way to deter thieves!</description>
