Your home lab
What is in your home computer lab? For myself I have gotten rid of a lot of old hardware and gone the way of VMware. Still some pieces though that I might pick up in the near future to flesh out my lab. Thing of it is though, is that my home time is already limited and I don’t know if realistically I should bother adding more h/w, in the form of Cisco routers/switches. Time is certainly at a premium. What about you guys though? Anything interesting in your lab, be it on a shoestring budget or other.

I have two Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition servers running on VMWare. I have one “phsycial” server running Windows 2003 Standard. Its a fully functional DNS/DHCP/AD and soon to be Exchange 2007 Server.
The hardware isn’t anything special, just an old Dell box.
Its nice to have something around the house that you can trash
.

I use 2 GB RAM to run VMware with 4 images of my choice.
1. Blacktrack for pen testing.
2. SNORT for Network intrusion detection.
3. OSSEC for Host intusion detection.
Can any body tell me how to exactly emulate PIX.

Hello Atul,
I would suggest you buy one of the Pix study guides. Those generally include one of the Boson test simulators. That way you get to practice your Pix syntax.
