I have been using Norton 360 for a little over a year and have just purchased another 12 months lisense for my 3 laptops. Just had a problem with the intrusion protection service switching itself off and I was told by Norton support it is a known issue and you have to upgrade for free to the new version. I upgraded and now have additional features that look like the freeware "Roboform", (someone has been stealing IP at Symantec Corporation!! ) I havent seen any security alerts from Symantec Corporation about the vuberability on norton 360 for home users, I guess they have decided not to informusers due to repudational damage - so be warned if you do have Norton 360 make sure you upgrade to the latest version for free on Nortons site.

Another point - Norton wont validate my latest installation due to my having the product installed on 4 machines - one of which I have thrown away after claering the hard drive - to request a review of my lisense entitlement I have to write to Ireland and wait for up to 3 wqeeks for a response - very poor service again Symantec Corporation!!

I for one am not impressed with the Symantec Corporation product or customer support - its McAfee or Kaspersky for me now....

Yes, I agree with Robert, Really backup program is primitive, and it is really difficult to use, but I found another anti-spyware www.search-and-destroy.com it is really easy to utilize.

Good Luck!

Hi Robert,

I would be inclined to agree with you on your criticism of the backup part of 360. Hopefully this will be smoothed out in future versions of this product. Either way, Symantec has greatly improved this product over the past couple of years.

I just purchased Norton 360, and with the exception of the backup application, it looks like a well designed product. Unfortunately the backup program is crude, dysfunctional, and unnecessarily difficult to use. It doesn't have the standard easy to use interface we've all learned to expect wherein you can check or uncheck folders you want to backup or exclude from the backup. That's hard to believe.

In addition, despite my selecting MANUAL backups, the application insists upon Automatically backing up files. I don't understand why.
