Competitive intelligence or lack thereof

Well you can call it what you will, but a hack is a hack. SAP find itself under the gun for allegedly hacking into Oracle in order to gain competitive intelligence. Now the fact that companies hack one another in order to get ahead is nothing new. It is now only getting mainstream media attention. Well, that plus some lawsuits -P. It only makes sense really. After all what is easier? Spend large sums of money to compete and design new products, or simply break into a rivals computer network and simply steal it from them? Rhetorical question really. That is where the part of ethics comes into question. You either have them or you don’t.
