The evolution of Malware

You simply have to hand it to the creators of malware. It truly is a fairly innovative field. Not really one to be admired, but the writers of viruses and other such malware adapt quickly to the changing security landscape. Instead of trying to find holes in operating system services, and the like, they have now instead turned their attention to their nemesis: the anti-virus engine. There have been quite a few related exploits associated with anti-virus products but this has been a deliberate attempt by malware writers to circumvent their protection. Still the best defense against malware is a bit of knowledge. Heck, my wife recently had my own computer owned by clicking on an attachment she thought was okay. Glad I caught it within a couple of hours. Funnily enough my a/v did not catch it .
