ISP’s to track user activities

Once again it seems that the US wants to act as an online Big Brother. It would appear that once again the US is considering legislation that would force ISP’s to track their users activities. While I am all for cracking down hard on paedophiles and other online scum, this wholesale monitoring is a little much. This sounds like another half baked attempt by the American government in their war against terror. What they should be spending more time on is drafting tougher laws to deal with those who use the Internet to distribute child pornography. I seriously doubt that anyone would complain about that.
