Actually I am not looking for any scapegoats. Often people perform better with clearly laid out job descriptions and a legible list of duties. One of which would be to check the vendor for patches and the such. Lack of time is a stretch but lack of initiative is sadly one of the common ones.

					<description>Yikes!  The reasoning you just used sounded like the initial search for a scapegoat.  Go back and take a look at your companies.  Lack of time/initiative may be a symptom rather than a cause.</description>
