There was a definite increase in spam over the past month or so. This apparently was due to bot armies now being used for spam purposes, and not solely DDoS extortion aimed at online businesses. ISP’s have been getting better at dismantling these bot nets, but more work yet has to be done. Only by tracing these bot nets back to individuals, and increasing the legal penalties, will this problem being to disappear.
